To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters - never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.

As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadowhunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadowhunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City - whatever the cost?

Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the third installment of the New York Times bestselling series The Mortal Instruments.

This is the second time I've read this book, and I have to say that I really enjoyed it.  After this, I will know nothing that has happened in this world.  Other than what people have told me.  I think it is both scary and exciting to know that I am about to dive into the rest of this series without much knowledge of what happens.

I really loved this series. I didn't like that we don't find out about Clary and Jace until the last few pages of book three. I would have loved to see more of their romance without them thinking that they are related. I also noticed something that I shared on Twitter last night. After the fight when they are at the party. Magnus is speaking with a woman near a tree, and she disappears.  I was wondering if anyone knew who he was talking with.  Cause I thought it was Tessa.  I have loved Tessa's story since reading the prequels, and I really hope we get to see more of her throughout the rest of the books.
This book speaks to the entire situation about who is worth saving. Are the downworlders that much different from the shadowhunters?  I kinda felt like there should have been a # for them. #DownworldersLivesMatter. Becuase, like the angel, said they do have souls. Which I think was kind of interesting.

This story speaks to the heart and won't leave you for some time!
